I believe most of you already heard this laptop for a while ago. But I also convinced that not many people that actually know or care about its existance.

Blah $100… I can imagine how it looks like :) ” kind of thought..

I’m just bored, so I’ll write a little bit about this thing.

That’s how it looks like. Green.. yes… bright green, and IT’S A PLASTIC!

However, do not under estimate the power of plastic, since it will be completely water resistance.

OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) was founded in 2005, with the aim of improving education in poor countries by putting cheap, rugged, low-power laptops in the hands of schoolchildren. That was the story. It was practically designated for financially-unhealthy countries (no idea what’s the term for that).

About 500,000 machines have been delivered; early national adopters include Uruguay and Peru. In early 2006, however, Negroponte was predicting sales of more than 100 million machines by this year.

Even it’s a cheap laptop, look at the design. I mean, look at the TOUCH PAD! IT’S ENORMOUS, HOLY CRAP! (with stylus combined). I wish my Dell XPS M1330 has such a thing..

One more thing to remember, it’s running on OX OS… not Windows, nor linux. For more detail specs, you can visit their site, One Laptop Per Child.
