I wrote for my presentation about 2 semesters ago, for my Technology-class project. It was about “What kind of technology that you think will be invented for the next 10 years,” and I was talking about the Water as an alternative fuel for car.
I remember, about 4 people, with some ‘intellects’ practically tried to explain to me if it’s impossible; and right now I can say right in front of their nose “YOU FAILED!”

Genepax, the Japanese company, presents their invention, the technology to make car runs on just water.

It’s basically still the same system with the Electric-car (or maybe we call it as a Hybrid car), but they are still needs Gasoline to run.
Genepax unveiled the car in the western city of Osaka on Thursday, saying that a liter (2.1 pints) of any kind of water — rain, river or sea — was all you needed to get the engine going for about an hour at a speed of 80 km (50 miles) / hour.
“The car will continue to run as long as you have a bottle of water to top up from time to time,” Genepax CEO Kiyoshi Hirasawa told local broadcaster TV Tokyo.
“It does not require you to build up an infrastructure to recharge your batteries, which is usually the case for most electric cars,” he added.
Once the water is poured into the tank at the back of the car, the a generator breaks it down and uses it to create electrical power.
Whether the car makes it into showrooms remains to be seen. Genepax said it had just applied for a patent and is hoping to collaborate with Japanese auto manufacturers in the future.
Well, officially the world will facing a water-crisis, maybe somewhere on 2099; but It’s okay, that is not gonna happen if they found a technology to converts a Gasoline into Water, correct? ^^

No. It does not run entirely on water alone. The membrane that converts the water into hydrogen and oxygen is a reactant. Ultimately it will be used up and you will have to purchase another one. It is not cheap to manufacture because it takes a large amount of energy.
Sorry, you can not change the laws of thermodynamics.
Well, from my understanding, you don’t need the gasoline which that’s the main point ^^
Yes, I don’t know anything about the physics or chemistries laws, so forgive my lackness.
Thank’s for the information, as all of us can guess if this thing will goes up too pricey,
just like going back to the Hybrid Car story = it’s not for your wallet, but environment.
Asoka: The Newton’s first law of theromdynamics is quite simple. It states that:
In any process, the total energy of the universe remains the same.
Which means that you cant create energy from nothing it always have to come from somewhere.
The problem with water car is that water does not contain any chemical energy. The ingredients of water hydrogen and oxygen does contain a lot of chemical energy but they have allready given up that energy when they have reacted with each other. They can be separated again but the separation always take at least the same amount of energy that you can have by allowing them to react again.
That’s what the ‘engine’ on the backseat was doing right? Breaking the water.
Pretty much said, their effort to break down the energy potential from H2O is wasting time, since it still requires another source of energy to make it works.
So, the only problem here is the efficiency? or something else?
I think the problem with this car is the reactant.
Manufacturing it takes energy and causes pollution. The actual energy this car uses is stored in the reactant so this car should be called reactant powerred car not water powerred car.
We my need to accept that the key to our energy future may not come from the government or big energy companies, but rather from small research and development companies and individual inventors working on water cars, fuel cells and on board hydrogen fuel generators.
Does anyone really believe that it takes higher gas prices to motivate research and development into alternative fuel sources?
