It’s Pucca! Not a Disney or Mickey Mouse’s Rip-off!

I was smiling so wide when I read this report from Engadget and Gizmodo. They wrote, saying that this ‘Mouse Phone‘ is nothing else than a piggyback tactic to Disney’s popularity by disregarding Mickey Mouse figure. Well, I can’t blame anyone since Anime, or say cartoon, especially from Asia is still relatively unknown in United States.

So, just for briefing, for those who don’t really know… I’ll babbling for a minute.

First of all, it’s not a mouse!

Pucca character is a little girl, (made in Korea) with the bun hair style on top, just like Usagi Tsukino from Sailor Moon.

Pucca is pretty famous in Asia. I found a lot of cellphone accessories, bags, t-shirts, hair-comb, clips, book, everything. Instead, I never knew that Pucca is an Anime / Cartoon figure (I just found it out through Wiki). For me, Pucca is more into like, Hello Kitty. Just a famous figure model.

So, how about the Disney logo that you could see on top of the display panel?

Well, apparently Disney already bought Pucca, and licensed it to the one of Disney TV channel character figures.

Talking about anime… I’m way out of topic. Now the spec for this soccer phone.

  1. Triple Band
  2. 1.3-inch 160 x 128 resolution display
  3. FM Radio Tuner
  4. built-in multimedia player
  5. 1.3-megapixel camera
  6. MP3/MP4 playback
  7. Stereo Bluetooth and keypad
  8. With battery life to talk up 4 hours, and 150-190 hours for standby
  9. 2 inches diameter at least.

Price? Yumm… $220 and up. That’s what happen when it comes to a famous figure. Cutenesses over performance.

Even I love Pucca, I must say that this phone is so…. for kiddos…

Rich kiddos… >.>
