Sony_MDR_V150

I’ve been looking around for a an excellent cheap pair of headphones these weeks. I will go through a simple review for every each pair I purchased.

The first one is this mini-headphones from Sony. MRD-V150. I’ve been using earphones for many many years, so I think I’m going to try the new dimension of listening experience eh? Yeah, I bought this from Circuit City for $19.00 —

My score for this headphones: 5/10

This headphones really disappointed me. It might be my own stupidity but it’s how I feel.

First, the wire. Since it’s not a full-headphone, I expected the wire will be considerable, which is not. It’s pretty thick, and quite long (probably 6 feet or so?). And the audio jack is huge… I’m not talking about the 1/4 inch one, but even the 3.5mm is really big and long.

Second, the frequency response. The reason I chose this model is the freq response says 18 to 22,000 Hz, which is look decent. I’m not a bassy person, so I’d rather have the higher freq response. But it’s not. This pair of headphones is more like… 8 Hz - 16,000 Hz (it’s just my approx). The bass is too strong, and really unbalance compared with the mid or even high freq.

Third, the hole is little bit too small for my ears. Not really a big deal, but it just not perfect fit.

However they are comfortable enough, and lightweight, aside from the bulky and long wired.

I returned this to the store, and had to pay 15% restocking fee. FINE!
